Link Local Multicast Name Resolution (LLMNR)

If no matching entry is found, PC1 sends an LLMNR Name Query Request packet over IPv6 to the IPv6 multicast address of FF02::1:3. All IPv6 hosts on the network that have Network Discovery enabled, listen to traffic sent to this multicast address. If PC2 is located on the same subnet and has Network Discovery enabled, the computer hears the query and responds to PC1 by providing its IPv6 address. PC1 can then establish a connection to PC2.
